All my work is hand built as individual pieces. I either roll the clay out in slabs, fold and join them together or build shapes up with coils - often I combine these methods.
I make hanging bird sculptures, vases, pictures, bowls, plates and tiles and lots more. I experiment with different patterns and the way coloured slips, oxides, glazes or glass are showing up in the patterns.
My figurative work is stylised and quite quirky, I like to see how the twist of a head, for example, changes the whole expression.
I have my own kiln in which I fire my pieces to 1250 degrees. This means they are frost-proof and can also be put in the dishwasher.
I will be at the Grantchester Christmas Fair on 26th and 27th November from 10am to 5pm. This is always a really nice event with lots of really interesting things to see as well as cakes and coffee! Do come along. Please also think about visiting the VK gallery in St Ives who have recently started showing my work.
